Crowntail betta question

i did, but i dont think it is that small. they each have way more space than they did in those little cups, probably more than double. i was told that in the wild bettas really like the smaller spaces.

You were told a total lie. Do some research--the water quality and quantity of rice paddies is grossly underestimated.

I paid just short of 5$ at a LFS for THIS betta...

Keep looking at the LFSs and go the day they get the shipment in...and you just never know what you'll find. I never pay more than 5$ for any betta...though I did pay 15$ for a double tail...which I did end up bringing back to the store because he had a chronic swim bladder issue....

Yes, you can find 5.00$ crowntail fish, but I doubt that you will know which genes it carries.
If the fish is for the looks then it is worthy, if you plan to breed it and wanting a certain result you need to know the genetics of that fish.
Many genes are not shown.

wow $325. There beutifull but cmon. I looked on aquabid and there were much more reasonable prices there. Now its the $15 extra for shipping (ouch). Id like to get 2 males. 1 all black and the other all white and stick a divider in my 10 gallon tank. I think it would be neet to do one side of the tank all black and other all white to match the bettas too. oh and butterflylove, ive seen bettas in those small bowls to but they really do desirve much better, at least a 2.5 gallon for each one Thanks for the help guys.

I agree 100%. The two bettas I've had thoroughly enjoy their 5 gallons. With the divider, you're giving them less than a half gallon each. Just think, it wouldn't be very pleasant for a human to be stuck in a closet their whole life, so why do the same to your pet? They have the same needs we do.

i agree totaly with iamchris you need at least 2.5 as a permant home for your betta. my freind who works at my lfs told me the less room the better for them he also said they find most wild bettas in little water filled cracks in the ground, I wanted to SLAP HIM for thinking that

malarky.....I have bettas in one gallons who are happy and healthy and doing fine. You just have to keep up with the water changes and basically not fuss with them and they do fine....and not clutter up thier home with alot of "toys". It's when I change things on them that they get upset and have problems...such as moving them to a different tank or changing thier surroundings.

I keep them near each other so they have someone to look at and make faces at when I'm not around.

Here's a setup I have of bettas in one gallontanks....
