Cruel, or just stupid?

That is absolutly terrible! Those people I just want to walk up to and hit them in the head and ask how they got so dumb and uncaring. Give a good smack for us all! :wall:

Trust me 90% of people out there or possibly even more don't care about fish as much as we do in this forum.

90%???

more like 99%. I havent yet met anyone in my life who has shared my love of fish, except my fiancee.

Now that is super ditsy. When you get to the part of flushing him makes me steaming mad. It is true that most people like nine out of ten people do not give a rats (bleep) about fish. Most people do not even view them as pets and think they are very expendable. Makes me furious but that is because I know the beauty and serenity that can be had from owning and watching these beautiful creatures.(People on this forum I believe share the same view of them that I have). It is their loss but unfortunately it is the fish that pay the terrible price of their stupidity and ditsyness.(If that is a word).

I currently go to college in Utah but spend my summers in Georgia. I didn't know how the fish could handle the 3 day drive home, so I left my boyfriend my Halfmoon Betta for the summer. I told him if Jackson's dead when I come back, him and I are over! (I was going to drop the cash to overnight the fish home, but he INSISTED he'd take good care if him).
...I've made it two months and he's still alive :) I have a little less than 2 months to go!

I lean towards "Stupid" and just plan not having the higher brain concsiousness needed at the level to truly comprehend what they were doing in relation to the fish or life in general. They were out for themselves - typical of a teenager (or a later bloomer in life in college).

In general, the human brain doesn't fully develop until your 20's...I think this proves it.

For most of the us, we gain the intellect of what's right and wrong at about age 8...

Its an example of cruelty born of ignorance, stupidity and a total lack of appreciation of the worth of life.

Spot on. Particularly the lack of appreciation of the worth of life for if you have it then the cruelty would likely not surface.

Someone should flush her down the toilet.

Seriously though, this kind of crap happens everyday. Most people just don't openly brag about it in public, which might indicate a deficit in the intelligence department. I think "higher learning" was knocked down a notch or two based on that conversation.
