which is the better to use in a tank with puffers, the crushed coral or sand. Its going to be a 29g tank with 2 ceylon puffers and 2 archers if thats not to much also do I need to have structure in the tank for hiding places for the puffers or any sort of plants. Thanx

I would go with the crushed coral to add to the buffering capability of the water. However, archers apparently get like 8-10"...a 29 won't be big enough long term. To house more than one puffer together its recommended to have lots of structure in the tank to really break up the line of sight, and hidey holes. Whether you do that with plants, driftwood, rocks, or a combination of all 3, is pretty much up to you I guess.

no one uses the crushed coral anymore. Everyone is taking it out and puting in sand. I wouldn't use it. I would use sand or bare bottom

A 29 is too small for any one of those fish. For four it is impossible. The Ceylons should have on the order of 35-40 gallons each, and so should the archers.

I would use aragonite myself.
