Crypt lucens sprout!?

I have something that is growing straight up out of the middle of my crypt lucens. It sort of looks like asparagus at the top.. has a pointed tip.
What is this?

A pic would be helpful but sounds like an offshoot. Probably a new crypt. Lucens and Wendtii do that quite frequently.

Its odd becasue I could swear it wasnt there 2 days ago.

Those sprouts grow that quick!? It maybe 12" tall

Could it be a flower? I thought they only flowered emmersed but maybe not.

Sounds like a flower stem, to me.

Sounds like a flower sprout to me as well, although I've never seen that crypt bloom. A sprout wouldn't grow that fast, a flower stalk will. Can't wait to see pics!!!

Here it is.. if its a flower what does it do? I don't know much about plants.
