I have had a bronze crypt for about 2 or 3 weeks. I have always heard that they will "melt" when you first get them but that they will grow back out - mine hasn't done this. I'm not complaining! I just wondered if I haven't had it long enough for this to happen. Mine seems to have gotten fuller since I have had it. Anyone else experience this with their crypts?

Not all crypts will do it and not all crypts that DO do it have it happen when you first get them. It seems to be in response to a change in their environment - no matter how small. Out of my crypts, one melted when I first got it (within a month) and has grown back better than before - the other one melted after I'd had it for a good 6 months.

It might still melt since it is relatively new - but I wouldn't worry about it.

I have not had any problem with my crypts for 4 years. But, back in Dec I decided it was time to try a fish I've wanted for years, discus. I turned my heater up to 83. Several of my crypts have suffered melt, but all show new growth.
