I never cared for German Shepherds till I saw an all white one online. Then I had to have one and that's what I got. Kinda regret it though. I care for my dog but working nights makes it hard to walk with him specially when he has this thing toward dark people. He lunged at an older african american male as I was walking him. That was the last time I really took him out. There was no warning sign that he was going to attack. His tail was flat his head forward not even looking toward his direction but as soon as he was in range he turned to get him. I yanked on the leash hard which kept him from biting the poor man who jumped in terror. I apologized as he just looked at me then my dog and took off in a hurry. I know he had the intent to draw blood with how hard his teeth shut closed. I noticed if it's anyone with dark skin though that he acts aggressively. Not sure why never trained him to dislike anyone but the opposite. He wont even bark at the mail man. So yea now he is locked up most of the time and I don't got the time needed to train him to respect people when on a walk.
 
Yeah but dogs have the senses that we will never fully understand, dogs hear stuff we cannot and smell things that we cannot began to smell.. They just sense bad in people and i know what you are talking about because i have seen it a few times where dogs were raised around a certain culture and when around another they are defensive..
 
Yeah that's what I was thinking because it's mainly Mexicans out here and a few whites so he is use to see them and has no reaction unless they linger for to long but with any dark people whether they are black or just an extremely dark skinned Mexican he will bark with the exception of the one black kid down the block he got use to seeing him and just ignores him when he walks by the house. Maybe he did sense something I didn't but man I never seen him lunge that hard at anyone. Thinking back he actually like jumped toward him. Not talking about like a jump for the face but would of got his elbow or upper arm area.
 
Well that's a good thing he didnt get him but yeah dogs can smell things that would make them excel, like the dogs that can smell cancer and drugs..
 
My dog would be able to do that just I doubt if he smelled say drugs on someone that he would just signal. He would probably tackle the person. I don't have any doubts on his intelligence or athletic ability so he could probably do that if trained. He has jumped a 5ft fence with only a 6ft run space between the fence and the wall so no running start but he managed to jump over. Knew he jump cause his white fur was on the top of the fence.
 
I have seen dogs clear fences and then i have seen them climb a fence pretty freaky watching them..
 
Well mine did one of the two maybe he climbed. Although would have been easier for him to jump the 4 ft fence to the grass then back over the fence to where there other dog was that he wanted to be with lol.
