What is the best medicine to use to cure cottony fungus on the eye?

Thanks

I haven't found anything that can cure it Gambrusia...... you can try a fungus medicine but they never seemed to work for me...... the only thing that makes it better is water changes..... these must be new fish, huh... not quite used to a cleaner environment? or have you just added new fish?

Though it stresses the fish out a bit, infections on the eye are hard to get rid of and often end in the death of the fish, I would suggest using Betadyne, its the same stuff that doctors use to sterilize prior to sugeries. Basically what you should do is dip a q-tip in the stuff, then very very gently dab the area infected. Just for a precautionary thing I'd also treat your tank with Melafix, the melaluca oil in the solution helps both fight off further infection and stimulates healing.

Use Maricyn II. I had a fish with that and got right on it and saved him. He did lose that eye tho'. Get the fish out of the main tank ASAP and put him in a huge pitcher if you have too... Then carefully dose him. You will have to break up the tablet if in a small tank.
