I bought them out of a feeder tank...to make as pets no less.

But I have been researching Endler's Livebearer, Endler's Guppy, or Endler's Poecilia. Whatever you want to call them.

And looking at Lyretail Guppies to create a new breading strain.

The "feeder" guppies have a lot brighter color than I am used to seeing.
So I wonder, going by how some lfs's like to pass off any guppy fry as "feeders", I may have by some chance gotten lucky and gotten more than just plain feeders and one of the 2 kinds I meantioned above. ???????

I'm used to feeder guppies being ALOT more silvery and not so much more color and more black. HMMM!

I think since they aren't full grown yet their coloring may not indicate which.
I was just curious. LOL

**Sorry the pictures are a tad large....it's better to see the colors**

that's what feeders seem to look like every time i buy them.

My feeder guppies (That i heroicly saved from dinner ...lol ) are Just plain silver with black... However sometimes they breed and i'll get a few fry that look like yours.. and sometimes i get ones that have huge genetic flaws.. i think feeders have poor genetics and they dont breed well.. i'm not saying you shouldn't but be aware you may get a few circus fish lol.

That's what my male feeder guppies look like. Sorry to burst your bubble.

when you get feeders the ones you have pictured with color are just simply males. the females are more dull like you described.

you simply bought a round of more males then usual.
