I have no idea. My friend had the battery on him, and memory card and did it on my cousins PSP. When I was doing it it was different. My friend just got one and he said he needs some "chicken" thing. Apparently he can't install a custom firmware, only run it. Every time he turns it off and back on he has to run the "chicken" thing. Which involves flashing (I think) so it can be risky.
