I have a sword with what appears to be a.. hmm.. spawning.. attached. I know little of plants, and don't even know what type of sword this is (I bought it from Petsmart, it was in their "various swords" tank). I drew a horrible little picture of what I'm looking at, a long stem coming out of the sword with what appears to be a small sword groing from one of the "joints" in the stem. Should I cut this little guy off and plant it, or leave it be?

The white lines under the leaves in the picture are, or appear to be, roots.

Thanks for the advice!

Yes, it's throwing plantlets. If you want more of them, let it continue to grow and more will form on the stem.
They are ready for replanting as soon as they have a viable root system. The one in the picture appears to be close to that stage.

is there any harm in letting it stay on the stem after it's root system is developed (while waiting for more to grow on the stem)?

Now redbucket, do you suppose there are little plant fairies out in the wild going around clipping off all the plantlets the mature plants throw off? I know Len can be MIA from time to time... but no, the plant will be o.k..
