How often do you all replace your piece of cuttle bone for your snails? I have a 2" piece in my tank, and the 2 mystery snails are always grazing on it as they pass by. It's been in there for 2 weeks. Does it go bad in the water? Should I replace it more often? ~brandy

whats a cuttle bone?

its found in the bird section of pet stores, its a calcium supplement. Often its used in snail tank to offer supplementary calcium

will it benefit shrimp?

its not really necessary for shrimp unless you have superlatively soft water (and then it would only apply to neocaridina sp.)
