Cuttle Fish ?

Hi guys

I was at the LFS on Saturday - and saw something in a packet labeled "Cuttle Fish". I have seen this stuff in the past, and have myself picked up a few from the beach - but never knew what that was.
Also, I had read someone in AC telling someone to use cuttle fish bone as some calcium (?) supplement for Snail / Pleco (dont remember clearly).
Just want to know from you what other uses does a cuttle fish have ?

Birds chew on it to maintain their beaks. My hen eats it to replace calcium when she's laying eggs.

No, but if you have snails it will help them grow stronger, healthier shells.

My land hermit crabs gnaw on cuttlebone. Maybe aquatic crabs would do the same?

Snails and as far as I can tell Shrimp will gnaw on it for calcium, I have a piece of it in all of my tanks for the snails.
