I recently had a blue green algae infestation in a lightly planted 20g long I just started in a lightly planted tank that wiped out all of my wisteria and a few other plants:irked:. I have 4 Anubias and 1 clump of Java Fern left and I read that treating the tank with erythromycin will kill it.
I dosed 200mg per 10 gallons for four days with a week long black out and the algae turned brown but it is still clinging to my plants, does it mean it still alive? I was hoping just to wipe it off and transfer the plants and the filter to a more mature tank, so would it be safe to do so without spreading it to the mature tank?

Thanks for the help.

take the plants out and rinse them very well, give em a quick dip in a weak bleach solution. then rinse them again in declored water. clean that tank out real well and see if it comes back...i hate bga with a passion
