Ok, I'm cycling my QT. The shrimp has been in there almost a month (Apr 8).
Ammonia is up to 6, nitrites and nitrates are at 0.
Am I doing something wrong?

The high ammonia readings are caused by the dead shrimp constantly releasing new ammonia into the tank. kcress is right. You definitely have to remove the shrimp. The shrimp should have been removed at the first sign of your target ammonia peak. I would remove the shrimp and test the water again a week from now. If you see the ammonia start to drop then your cycle has started. If not, then I would start over.
