Cycle question

Yes Maxilara, Im in Tn too...Sevierville to be exact, and my local Kroger carried plain ole unadulterated ammonia. I recently, about 3 weeks ago, cycled a 55g tank with it and have a healthy breeding pair of JD's in it.

A good rule of thumb is to find the cheapest, plainest, unlabeled brand you can find. I would steer clear of the shrimp. The smell, the possibilities of it rotting and causing poor water conditions...etc. Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!!

Help me out please, what was the exact brand name on it? Was it Kroger brand or did it have another name? I have been stocking that crap in that aisle for about 12 years now, and I am drawing a total blank when it comes to the name on the bottle to help them know exactly what to get. Real gleaming advertisemen there for my memory huh :/

lol, gsk I've been keeping salt water for years. I'm immune to the smell of rotting shrimp at this point! Now rotting sponge that's a different story .. That's roughly comparable to a leaky septic tank combined with a dead sun bloated cow x 3.
I Just hope this works out I want to keep annual African or Asian killi fish They are so pretty. From what I've seen on line I should be able to keep 40 plus,"of a lot of species anyway," in my 20 gallon.
Thanks for your responces!
Chris
