Unless you really rinsed the sand extremely well, I would venture a yes. I'd run the filters for a couple of days to clear out as much as possible then start your cycle. Good choice on the additional filtration, IMO.

thanks. I like doing things right and well scoring a HOT magnum for $43 was a blessing. The water seems clearer now, Im going to let the filters run for the rest of tonight and ill start my cycling tomorrow evening after I get off work, by then it should be clear. I added some water conditioner, to help it out a little. Im just hoping my oscar and his lil friends enjoy their new home.
