Cycling and worms

I'd wait for the nitrites to show up before doing a 50% water change. There is no fish in the tank, plants like some ammonia - for them it is just nitrogen, its not toxic. Wait a few more days and test again. If your nitrates are still going up, fine. Do your water change. However, if your nitrates are the same and you still haven't seen nitrites I'd wait a couple more days after that to do your change - just to be safe.

Hopefully by the end of the week, your tank will be ready to go!

Readings tonight:

Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates between 20-40

I did see around .25 ppm of ammonia the last few days when I tested 3 hours after the food was added but in the morning it was gone. However tonight the ammonia was 0 (and I added the food this afternoon).

Does that mean its finally cycled?!?! :)

Hey, do a water change, test again tomorrow and I think you may be good to go! Add fish VERY slowly now, maybe 1-2 per week and give your bacteria a chance to grow and catch up. (Or were you just going to put the betta back..)

Good, now you can play again! (Be sure to lower that temp!)

Cool! Thanks a whole lot!

I am just going to put the betta back into the tank for right now...(after the water change and testing of course ;) )

Thanks again!
