is it normal to have high levels of nitrite but everything else read within range? including amonia?

your nitrates are also in the right level?

yes..... everything else is where its supposed to be(nitrate, calcium,amonia,phosphate,ph, and alk. nitrite is the only thing i am getting high readings of. would a 50 percent water change fix the problem or should i just wait to see if the nitrobacters will convert it to nitrates?

ammonia=0ppm, ph=8.3, nitrate=under 10ppm, nitrite=2.0ppm, calcium= 500mg/l, phosphate= between .2 and .4mg/l, alkalinity= 4.0mEq/l.
