Cycling Question

Okay I will attempt not to over test. But I already had a fish die less than 24 hours after bringing it home. After thinking about it for a bit, and seeing the other to fish behaving normally I decided that it was just a bad fish from the store. As soon as I put it in the tank it started swimming really erraticly, and running into the sides of the tank. The other 2 were just hanging out and checking out the tank, very peacefully. So I got a replacement from the fish store.
 
Yeah, that can happen... and if your tank is still cycling, that can be tough on newly bought fish, so casualties can be expected in the beginning while the tank and fish are trying to establish themselves. Harlequin rasboras were a good choice, though... pretty tough little fellas. ^_^

Mine have a silver line above their triangle. Mine don't look like any picture I've seen, as I don't think they take pictures very well. The pictures of them always look bland. Mine also have a purple glow on their body right in front of the triangle when you look at the right angle. Awesome fish, just don't have pictures to show off their best colors.:huh: The fins on mine are also an orange color not black; otherwise, they are harlequin rasboras.
 
I think it's just different color variants of the same fish. It could also be attributed to the prism of colors their bodies give off according to different types and color ranges of lighting.

Incandescent light, regular fluorescent, 'daylight' bulbs, red-yellow or green-blue range lights, LEDs, etc... can make the same fish look very different, color-wise.
