I have a 75 gal. tank running for 8 weeks now, 0 anomm. -0.50 nitrites---20 nitrates--sal. 010.21 1/2..............how long for the tank to be cycled???? Is the nitrites taking long or is this a normal????????

I'll start by saying there's a wet/dry, uv light,protien skimmer,fluval 405,emperor 400 filters (3 filters)...3ins. of sand, as for fish 1 yellow tang,1 naso tang,1 clown fish,3 three stripped damsels,1 blue cromoises,1 arrow head crab & 1 cardnel fish & 2 golden turbo snails
when was the last time you added in a fish?
Memory serves me, you didn't do a full cycle, you did a fish cycle and the ammonia never really got up as far as what most members tend to do when doing a cycle (5ppm)? Perhaps talking a little about that could help some members help you.

That's right, it's been 8 weeks now. 1 fish was added last Sunday. I'vd done all my water changs every two weeks since I started & yes never had a ammonia problem. My nitrites went off the charts & went as low as 0.25 (maybe because of a water change)then to 0.50 for about two weeks now . ( 9 fish in the tank now)
May want to add some LR ,as it serves as a filter also .

I would agree with that....I have to say that to me, the tank is not cycled sufficiently...doing the constant water changes would not of helped the cycle in my opinion either as you have been removing the bacteria which is part of the cycle, hence a very low count of ammonia through the cycle...
