I have chosen to cycle my tank with ammonia. The sticky threads says to use 100% ammonia. The ammonia I have at hand just says Ammonia with no percentage. The ingredients list is as follows: Soft Water, Ammonia, Surfactant. I was wondering if this was able to be used. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't use this stuff. Surfactant is detergent You should be able to get ammonia without surfactant.

You can't get 100% ammonia (in a retail store, that is), as it's a gas. What's referred to as "100% ammonia" is actually ~29% ammonia, with the balance being water. You want the stuff that doesn't contain surfactants, colorants, or other additives - just ammonia and water as the ingredients.

agreed...shake the bottle, and if it doesnt foam...it should be safe
don't use anything in your tank with surfectants...thats a cleaner..
I found mine at the local grocery store..
