Cycling with Bio Spira and Prime

So in conclusion:

Your bio spira is not working..And it could be caused by you doing massive water changes and you took out the bio spira..Or you got a bad batch of bio spira which happens a lot..

The last time I used bio spira, I had an ammonia level of 6-8 then a large nitrite spike...And in 5 days, everything was cycled..I did not do any water changes because in my view, the bio spira bacteria is in the water trying to establish themselves..

Water Changes

I have just completed 50% water changes in both tanks and post results in a few hrs.

Bio-Spira results vary. It sounds like it is working to me. watermelon you are correct that with high levels of ammonia available you will get better results. However you cannot let NH3 levels get that high with fish in the aquarium or they will die.
