The floors in the appartment are wood and im on the seccond floor. The tank was given to me by a friends mom who had it for 26 years. My girlfirend is worried that the glass bottom will crack and water will go everywere. anything I can do to ease her worries would be cool.

I wouldn't be super concerned with just 55g, I'm attaching what I have on a second floor apartment and it far outweighs any 55 I have ever seen.
I have a 40g breeder, and 2 x 29g
