I have a 25 gallon cycled tank. Recently stocked it with two "daffodil" cichlid (one male, one female) and one bristlenose plec. These two cichlid have successfully paired and produced at least one batch of offspring (which is what I'm hoping for). Other than maintaining water quality, is there anything else that needs to be done to get these two to breed?

your post is puzzling ... according to you, they've already spawned. so why ask the question "is there anything elsse i need to do to get them to spawn?"

Live bbs will increase the growth rate and survivability of the fry. Brichardi are pretty bullet proof as far as spawning goes. I will warn you that they are so prolific that you will have to remove fry to grow out, and practice strict CULLING. I've seen bags of brichari brought into lfs where this was not done, and it was not a pretty sight. Look for rounded faces, bent spines and fin abnormalities. BE RUTHLESS. The last thing the hobby needs is substandard specimins of this species. Good Luck.

Sorry if the post was "puzzling." I meant that the pair had produced offspring in someone else's tank. Not mine, as I just acquired them.
