Daphnia dying :(

They do eat yeast. You need to only add a little bit so that the water becomes very very slightly cloudy.

I just like using green water to feed them. This way I could never over feed with green water.

Just take the water you get during a water change for them. Or age tap water overnight. I have a huge plastic garbage can in the backyard that gets lots of sun. I just dumped my daphnia in there once. And year after year they come back. Thats also where I dump my water changes. Then I use that water to water my plants. I still have enough daphnia after they get sacrificed to the plants

by all accounts you should use water taken from an aquarium during a water change. The water from aquariums is by far the most reliable to use. I am not sure of the exact cause but whenever I have used even aged tap water, I end up losing the whole culture. Only water from an existing aquarium seems to keep them alive.:werd:
