Does anyone know about expanding daphnia populations? I just got some dropped off for my science fair project and I received a little less than I need to work with so I was wondering how i could expand their population? Do they need acclimation to a bigger water source and what can I feed them? I think they can eat yeast, yes?

Oh, I can't culture green water at the moment. Dang. I was advised to feed them ground up flake/bit of boiled egg yolk? I have yeast so I will be feeding that anyways.

Thank you for answering!

Ok, I was looking through my supply and I found a full jar of powered repashy, soilent green. Would that work?

Sorry if I'm pestering you with questions, i'm new to daphnia ?

I think you have to add a lot of water, so you can add it like a liquid like you would do with green water, I think that would work.
Happy to answer any questions here...

Thank you!

I just added some. I'm planning to add them to a larger jar then either use tank water, distilled or dechlorinated tap in it. Which one seems best?
