My albino cory has a dark mass inside the abdomen. I just noticed this. There's also a Velvet outbreak in the aquarium. Are they related?

pathologically, the diseases are not related. environmentally however, they are related in that diseases, whether parasitic or bacteriological, are primarily caused by poor water quality. what are your water parameters with regard to ammonia, nitrite, nitrate? how often do you change the water? what size is the tank? how many and what kind of fish are in this tank?
while velvet can be treated with medications, tumors are generally not responsive to drugs.
