wish texas holy rock was way more cheap, i'm down to buying it in little pieces, and has any one noticed that texas holy rock builds up algae way faster then others rocks, it will be completely green in a week and the other rocks and glass and even my white sand take about 2-3 weeks before it has a good amount of algae on it. texas holy rock i also found out is a Pain in the A$$ to clean and make white again, any ideas on how i can get all the algae off it and keep it white, i know more algae will grow on it but when i clean it off i would like to see it white again.

I've always enjoyed the biofilm build up...looks more natural IMO. You could try bleaching if you wash them enough afterwards. Cleaned off pieces I thought I was going to sell pretty well (decided to keep them though).

I'm not sure if Mel is still collecting pieces or not but she was selling them for a lot cheaper than most stores, I think even with the price of shipping factored in. You might want to contact her.

I too wish it wasn't so darn expensive. But unfortunately with the time and money consumed for collecting/cleaning costs it's not something that can be sold cheap. Especially since it's found naturally in such a limited area of the country.

its for my Tanganyikan tank, so they eat some of it
