Hey AC.
I have been thinking about a few dart frogs for a while now and have decided to go ahead and start work on a 10 gallon I have.
The tank right now has a fish hood with 2 15 watt lights.
Will these be enough to grow plants?
Also what are a list of dart frog friendly plants?
My house is not generally that warm, around 68-70 degrees during the day and low 60's at night. How can i keep my dart frog terrarium at the desired temperature?
Thanks alot I'll ask more questions as i rememeber them :grinyes:
I will post some pics as soon as i begin work which should be this week.

:help:

Check out the dart frog forum at Kingsnake.com; you should find lots of info in the archives there.

I haven't kept darts, but I think you should be fine with any small tropical plants that don't have spines or hairs. Pothos, peperomias, tillandsias, vriesias, philodendrons, and any orchids would probably work. Most plants sold as houseplants do fine in low light, so your two 15-watt bulbs (I assume they're compact fluorescents, right?) should provide plenty of light.

An under-tank heating pad is probably the best way to warm your tank.

you should go to http://www.dendroboard.com
I think its the best site for vivariums even if you cant get dart frogs.
you will find all the info on plants and frog care from the local experts there.

I cant get PDFs:( so I just lurk in the parts and construction sub-forum and steal vivarium ideas..

ps. I hope its ok to link to other sites I didnt see anything on the sticky about it.?
