Dazed and Confused

ill take #3....bioload has been same for a while..,,the JD would poop small children and was a crapfactory like the pleco....
im running a fx5 and a 405 is pumping my sterilizer.
how does bacteria just die off?

too much warm water?
too much WC%
thanx

Rinsing your filter under the tap water,
Not including the proper dosage of Prime to your WC
if your fresh WC water is too hot, it can do it too.

the hot h20 might have done it....and i tank water clean media. ....but i did add change carbon last filter rinse about 2 weeks agi was fresh just rinsed...should have tank water soaked it after rinsed.

also thanks for all info.... its nice to be able to turn questions when your stumped....racking my brain trying not to hurt my fish-kin

except that the bacteria involved in the nitrogen cycle do not reside in the water column. ;)

nitrites down to .25-.50 still too high got a 25% wc happening with water i have in buckets i left out overnight at room temp..76f

just keep an eye on it and keep up with the water changes, a LOT of them.. whatever cycle youre going thru is half over.
