Found one of my albino corys dead. Noticed this reddish "wound" on its side. (brown specks were just some tank debris so please disregard). Ever see this before. I've had my worst luck with cory cats.
thanks,
Andy

I noticed that tail. Wasn't sure if it was related. Tank inhabitants are: 5 zebra danios, 4 harlequin rasboras, 11 cardinal tetras, 3 platies, 2 otto cats, 2 amano shrimp and 2 remaining cory cats. Not sure who could be the aggressor? Tank is 55 gal.

possibly the danios... they have been known to be agressive in small schools.. not very common-- but possible

are the cories a newer addition? or have they been in there a while?

How big are the platties vs the cories I have had swordtails beat cories to death who were not adults. O2 depletion gives the red around the gills a lot of times. Sounds like a big tank though for that.

also a possibility... one of my platies is a real *******

That cory has been with me less than two weeks.

its certainly possible that one of the larger fish in the tank didnt like the addition....

its also possible that its some sort of infection since its a new fish

monitor the other cories closely
