Dead Fish

Just an update. I'm down to 1 F1 msobo. The rest have passed in the same fashion. I gave the male acei a medicine dip along with the remaining F1. The acei has been much more active now and seems normal. The msobo also seems well but I'm hesitant to say she'll make it.

Was Msobo your own F1 or from breeder? If from your own, how are parents doing??

I am curious as to why just F1 Msobo???/

Perhaps beyond our ability to identity.

How long ago did you acquire the batch?

Contacted old colleague/breeders to see if something new has pop up since I left fish keeping/breeding, but no new particular developments.

I would consider fish from local club auction to be better quality than ones from lfs/out of town breeders.

Hope this was/is last of your problem.

I found a dead female acei this morning. I did a water test and was shocked to see my ammonia at .5. I think it's from Sunday when I moved all my rocks around. I did a large water change at the time and used Prime. Anyway I didn't have time to do a water change so I added a bag of those ammonia absorbing chips that I got with some used supplies. The acei came from the pet store and has always been really weak. I'm assuming the loss was due to the ammonia.
I'll do a a water change tonight when I get home from work.
