I feel very guilty about this since I let it stay in the small bucket with heater/filter for a while since we're still laminating floors. Anyways, it got sucked up the filter again(third time, I bet it's the same one). It died, I see small broken remains in the foam. What should I do about that? I rinsed it out, would that be fine. Will this be hurting other fish?

How long was the fish in there? Was this an established filter? Healthy fish should be able to avoid being sucked into the filter--unless you have juvenile fish, or the filter is massively too large for the container. I've run AC300's on 5 gallon tanks without problems.

For the other fish--if you rinsed the filter in tap water (ie, with chlorine/chloramine), you could have killed off some of the bacteria. Otherwise, it shouldn't be a problem for them at all. But you'll want to determine what killed that fish; it could have been ammonia or nitrites, under the circumstances, in which case the other fish may be in trouble as well.

I believe it got killed because it got sucked up the filter. This is a cycling tank. My second week will start tomorrow.

Anyways, the tank is kinda stinky now when close. It's toleratable, but still isn't a good thing. It's a White Cloud. It was probably dead for 1-2 days. I've been gone since Monday, and I just found out it's dead.

Also, is an AquaClear 150 good enough for a 20 gallon tank? It was in the kit, I hope it will work great with it.
