DEAD SEA APPLE

Sorry for the caps, i was at work and "trying" to use website on mobile phone. Tried to send a reply but it wouldn't send it. Anyway thanks for the quick reply Andy. Been telling him for ages to get rid of it cos of how bad these apples are.

The details are, his apple got stuck against one of the pumps and died as he tried to remove it. As far as i know it's out now and in the bin. Most of his fish are confirmed as dead, a few not seen as of yet, only seen a damsel still swimmin quite happy. Think he said his mushroom coral and sea pen had died. No nassa snails in tank, just turbos and hermits. He's gonna start with some big water changes and hook up a spare skimmer along side the one already running plus use some carbon in a filter.

What he want's to know now is will his live rock survive or will it need to be replaced? about 100kg ( Tank is quite big )

I don't understand why people want to keep these sea apples! Every living thing must die sometime, and these things take everything with it! Maybe they should have their own private tanks. Nasty!

wow that so sad...ive been there...yikes
another water change soo should be done as well as replacement of carbon every 3 days for at least 9 days...or at least half the carbon. the rock should be fine as mine was but it seems that what happened to his was much worse than my incident since the apple didnt die but was just stressed enough to release the poison.
