if i don't pick out the dead shrimp, will it afftect my water?

Like anything else that dies, it will foul the water. Considering its relatively small mass, it won't be much, but remove it or hope something eats it. Do you have fish or snails living with your shrimp? I'm sure they, along with any other shrimp, will pick at and eat the dead shrimp.

I typically remove any dead shrimp. Why deliberately leave something that could effect water quality and the well-being of the other shrimp.

There are many variables with this question... Than said I agree with the others and I remove any I see, but in a 10 gallon tank it is much more of an actual water quality issue then in a 40 gallon. Snails and shrimp will eat it quite quickly...

Yes, they will eat it.

I leave them in for the other shrimp to eat, but my tank is well planted.
