Hi all
There's a lot of information on how to treat infections, illness, etc, but very little info on how to treat recently wounded fish.
Had a bad weekend. One of my bristlenoses got hammered in my 500L tank, see my post in bottom feeders for the circumstances. Got a call from my sister-in-law to say their Angels have hammered a load of golden barbs and columbine tetras. Went round to find the angels taking up 2 ft of the 4 ft tank and all the other tank-mates occupying the other 2 ft (territorial? reckon so).
2 golden barbs have small bites, one has a lot of major bloody wounds, one columbine tetra is swimming nose-to-ground (vertically).
I have put the fish in a 20L medicine tank and treated the water with aquaseptic (aminacrine hydrochloride) and multi-cure (malchalite green, methylene blue and acriflavine). The multi-cure is in there because of the methylene blue, which I read is good for wounds.
Haven't put salt in the water because I don't think the columbine tetra can handle it (haven't been able to confirm).
You guys know how to treat wounds? I'm just guessing...
