Dear Papa John's

If your only choices for pizza are Papa John's and Pizza Hut I feel for you! They're both lousy examples of pizza. One more reason I'm glad to not live in flyover country!

I always thought out of the mass-produced pizza places like Papa Johns, Dominos, Pizza Hut, etc... Papa Johns always made the best pizza by far.

Probably depends on your local franchise though.

I haven't ordered from any of those places in years though. I loved it back in college- for a year or so would always get free pizza from Dominos.

They used to have that "delivered in 1 hour or it's free guarentee"... they would never make it to the University in an hour (despite being just around the corner) so it was always free- usually took them about 2-3 hours on average- so NEVER had to pay (besides tip)... eventually they stopped that 1 hour or free guarentee... so I stopped ordering from them... Dominos isn't worth getting if you actually have to pay for it!

Once Dominos stopped giving pizza away and I actually had to pay for it- I'd always order from Papa Johns. So much nicer than Dominos.

When I lived in upstate SC Pizza Hut was all there was. It was like hell on earth for someone raised in Philly with access to Taconelli's, Tony's, and Perry's!

When and where in the upstate did you live?

Can't say I've ever heard of "Taconelli's, Tony's, and Perry's!" - but there are lots of pizza places all over the upstate... well, at least the Greenville/Spartanburg area.

My favourite pizza place is Mellow Mushroom- they don't have a mellow mushroom in the upstate (or at least didn't when I lived there).

We tried Papa John's once and the pizza was soooo bad it made Domino's look good. We live where most people eat hand made pizza so to eat a pizza with a machine made crust is almost unheard of anyway.

Q

:iagree: Papa John's is horrible food so you won't be missing much anyway. They did you a service by screwing up your order ;)

LOL, we don't eat chain restaurant pizza. We eat real Italian pizza from small family owned stores around here. I like the real stuff better. The sauce at pizza hut is too sweet, and Dominos, i don't know we just don't eat them any more.

So for me its 2 Brothers (a family owned store), and Nino's (also a family owned store).

They built one in Clemson a few years ago.. AWESOME! I first had it in Atlanta, so much better quality than what I was used to being served...

Yeah, I think the one off the Marietta Square near Atlanta was the first one I ever ate at. I've also eaten at the ones in Columbia and Charleston many times- never had a bad Mellow Mushroom pizza.

Stone Mountain...was interning out there. They built one recently in Mt. Pleasant on Hwy17, not sure if they have one in MBeach yet though? California Pizza is pretty darn good whether from the delivery or frozen from the store...

(*^%*&%^*&^###

So having read the 1st post of this thread, I got in the mood of Pizza hut. Decided to order out today. I ordered a small pizza, 5 wings, a drink, and asked for utensils, sauce for the wings, and napkins.

1 h 20 m later, the delivery guy shows up with a cold pizza.

No wings
No sauce
No drink
No utensils. And he blames it on the kitchen... So I call the stupid restaurant, and they blame it on the driver.

Needless to say, I'm upset. I haven't had Pizza hut in ages, but it is now on my black list.
