Death by Powerhead

I had a small histrionica loach that swam "upstream" into the output as a regular cave. Even though I knew he did that & removed the maxijet PH, he was still hidden inside after repeated rinsing, banging etc. He fell into the sink & down the garbage disposal. I rescued him but he, then eventually all his brethren, died.

I've read of hillstream loaches also going into the flow from Koralias. There was a thread on loaches.com of modifications to prevent that, I think by Tristan, loachesrcool or loachesrus...been a while...

In my girlfriends tank this happened. One of her fancy goldfish somehow got sucked in by the flow adjusted by his tail, and after finding him, he didnt make it past 48hrs. He wasnt stuck by the intake, but where I can adjust the flow. Was weird, she tells me I killed her fish because I was the one that put that power head in, sad because that fish I raised from a egg.
