Is it really common practice to freeze your dead fish? several people have a dedicated fish freezer? This all seems so strange to me, I just usually say a few words and flush em. Or I put them in a zip-loc body bag for the trash man.

Luckily not many of my fish die...knock on wood...but honestly it never occured to me to try cryogenic preservation. I find this so funny, its like you freeze them in the hope that someday the right mela/pima combo will come along to cure the fish.

I freeze my to save in time of famine

^ LOL.

Mainly those who have a spare freezer, keeps their dead fishies.
Also some people just wanted to hold onto their fish a while longer either because they really loved the fish, or it was a lot of money to just pay for the fish and keeping it alive.
Some people keep them as trophies.
Taxidermist can stuff it.
and Famine it seems now...

I am sorry, I have nothing to contribute, but you should try MFK. A lot of them have many dead fish in the freezer, most are big fish, and even some have rare specimens.
