Decent cheap filtration for 125- suggestions?

Thanks, MGamer. While I don't think the water-bottle method is going to be adequate for my tank, it actually is a pretty good idea about using the main tank as the sump and putting the filter above it; that way I don't have to worry about building siphoned overflow boxes, since I can just stick some bulkheads and internal overflows in the filter.

how come? it works thats all that matters. heck if i had a attic i would put all my filters there lol

Cause I would want something sturdier, and instead of running a million containers, with questionable flow, I would just spend the extra time and build Sploke's link. But if you run your fishroom in your garage, couldnt you use the rafters the same as an attic?

yea but i dont have rafters and it isnt in the garage. besides its a mock up you can make it out of something bigger if you want.
