When doing a water change,if you were to leave the water that you were going to use sitting in containers for a few days would the chlorine evaporate without using any commercial dechlorinators or chemicals.
Cheers.
hi mickey.i have chloramine in my water so i use wardley chlorout which rids the water of the above mentioned.during various times of the year their is ammonia in my tap water also.i then use amquel.i almost killed a tank full of fish last month due to ammonia and me not testing the tap water.allwet.....
I'm too worried about killing my fish, so I always use a water conditioner to remove ammonia, chlorine, and chloramines. It's a small price for peace of mind.
chloramine never outgases. thats why the water utility uses it. but as stated by someone else, there is more to be treated than just chlorine/chloramine. i always us AmQuel and PolyAqua when i do PWC in my tanks. doesn't cost me that much for the added "peace of mind" by using the products.
