Hey guys. Right now I have a 45G with 1 Large Tin Foil Barb, 1 Red-Tailed Shark, 1 Needlenose Gar, 2 Jewels, 2 Oscars, and 2 Albino Clawed Frogs. I know this is way overstocked, the reason we did this is because we knew the 60G would open up, and then we could put fish in there, which brings me to my question. What would be the best way to split up the fish between the 45G and 60G, while only getting rid of (if needed) 1 Oscar, and while, (if possible) adding 6 Balas? The Bala's are fish I already have that I really love. Also, I have a Rainbow Cichlid in a 15G Downstairs, (someone just gave it to me and I have nowhere to put it) if this could fit in somewhere too that'd be great.

I know any solution would still probably result in overstock, (esspecially with the Oscars,) but I'm trying to find the best one, (as the fish in the 45G are my moms...I'm clearing my 60G out to help take care of some of those fish and because I'm getting bored with it.)

You are correct, which ever way you slice it, you will still be overstocked.

I would move the two Oscars and the Tinfoil into the 60. I would NOT buy anymore fish. Plan on purchasing at least a 90g if you want to keep both Oscars. FYI, adult Balas really need a 6 ft. tank due to their speed and schooling behavior.

Scholar is on the right track but you need 200+ gallons and don't buy more fish.
