Sorry, I guess I'm just really paranoid! :duh:
I guess some of it also depends on where you live. I live in Texas- very dry, streams and stuff have really low water levels. Lots of litter. disgusting.
Most fish people like ya'll have enough common sense to know what to put in your tank and what not to!
I'm visualizing someone inexperienced walking to the local park and pulling a hunk of wood out of a drainage ditch or something like that.
Nothing would suprise me, a friend told me the other day about a friend who had a cichlid (never saw it, so I can't be more specific) that got too big for its tank. Ya'll aren't going to believe this, but this person drained their inground swimming pool and filled it up with water out of the hose and then released the fish into the pool. Didn't even bring the water to an appropriate temperature!
Needless to say, the fish died. I wanted to know how these idiots kept the fish alive long enough to get that big!
I was absolutely shocked when I heard this. My friend knows the people well, and they really did that!
