I was just wondering if some of you guys that have your tanks decorated very naturally could post some ideas for getting that authentic "lake" look. Maybe some pics would be nice. In a little while I'll post pics of some examples.

Thanks

Did you check out this website, www.thetropicaltank.co.uk ? This host has people posting their tanks on his website. Those tanks look great.

There are some other sites that I occassionally search to give me ideas. And yet, there are always something I need to change to make it looks more natural (not even close to look natural). :D

I am really in to the natural look (unfortunately no pictures sorry). It is very cost effective too. I have spent more on the two plastic plants in my 150 than all of the rocks. I find it quite pleasing to build all of the caves and rockwork for the festae. It reminds me of building forts as a kid I guess. In my fifty five I have a nice tangle of driftwood with java wrapped around a lot of it. I have a sand substrate with some pebbles over top. My satanopercca and retroculous love sifting and rooting through it. Anyway wish I had some pics.
