Decorating tips, ideas?

there its at the front and its labeled terracing and gravel depth, and if you cant find it there i know you can go to my member page and find it in the recent posts there..good luck!

A LFS around here carries huge chunks of quartz and other stone. I dunno if you have anything like that around there but it really highlights the tank. I have a piece in my tank and everyone loves it. I plan on getting a big sheet of it and propping it up in my snail tank I'll be setting up soon.

A lot of fake plants come with stupid plastic bases that can make it look really fake if exposed. Plants do look nice sitting on top of rock or driftwood as if they're growing over it. So you could try removing the plastic base and glueing or siliconing the plant to a rock or piece of wood, and then camoflauging that by putting smaller rocks/fake moss/smaller piece of wood over top. Or trying putting it in a wedge of the rock or wood where it would be hidden.

Also I find that selection of colors and placement really makes the tank too. If you use different colors of rocks place them randomly, otherwise it looks like you arranged them, and not so natural.

Also something I really like in my aquarium is for algae to grow on white rocks. I think the green on the white looks great. I also found that on darker colored rocks, it looks less good IMO.

I got some vines with silk leaves from a discount store to put in my newt tank. The stems have wire inside so they are bendable to any position. I was surprised at how good they look, at least as good as fish store silk plants and drastically cheaper.

depending on the wire in the plants, this could cause disaster. if the wireis not good quality stainless steal, it could F-up your water quality and kill ur fish.

I have two questions to ask
1) Are fake plants not marked as aquatic harmful for the fish ?
2) would stainless steel (on any metal for that matter) in tank cause harm to fish (besides getting bruised by sharp edges (if any) i mean) ?
