deformed danios

The little green glofish died last night. So I suspect the yellow one is doomed as well. If I can find the clove oil I'll take care of it, but I won't be getting to any stores until Tues. with the holiday Mon. The tank is too small for danios - 5 gallons - I know. We put them in there because they had been driving my guppies crazy in my 10 gallon. My daughter really wanted a betta - I told her she could earn it if she kept her room clean - but that never happened. So I let her get the glofish. Never again. (There's really no space in her room for a bigger tank.)

I read somewhere that this can also be due to old age. Something about as they get older their spines start to bend.

Well, Tues. morning we found the little yellow glofish had died, so I never had the chance to use the clove oil. I was in my LFS (PetsMart) and told one of the people about the bent fish - she seemed unaware of any chronic problems with these fish. Ah well. The other 2 danios seem fine, so I guess we'll choose some other fish to keep them company.

i got some of the pink glofish and 1 of them was very skinny and looked like you described, but after probably 2 weeks maybe a little less it started to plump up and look normal...just take good care of the aquarium and make sure the fish are eating
