hey everyone,

where i live, there arent ANY LFS, so i've had to go to petco, petsmart, unreliable dealers, exct. for my freshwater fish. it works ok for them, although i end up with a lot of sick fish and unexperienced employees. im setting up a 30g marine tank, and there is only a very small selection of SW fish at one of the petstores. (only clowns, few tangs, and a couple of angels)
no inverts, no corals, no LR or LS. so, ive been thinking about ordering some fish online, but the thought of having them delivered worries me. (i dont want a $50 dead fish arriving at my door) one place i looked into had a very good selection of fish, inverts, and LR, at resonable prices, plus they did have an alive arrival guarantee, but i need some personal experience with this. i need to know if there guarantee if reliable, if the fish are healthy, if the fish arent to stressed out, exct. your personal opions of fish delivery would be appreciated.

by the way, the place i looked into was live aquaria.com its owned by Dr.'s foster and smith. any other good or bad places that i should know about?

thanks a lot!

Because I don't trust many of the LFS close to me, I have ordered most of my SW fish and invertebrates online, and have had no problems at all. LiveAquaria is very reputable, and I haven't heard of any problems with them.

I do my ordering in the spring and fall, to avoid weather extremes.

liveaquaria has been good to me. im not sure how their shipping is but inland aquatics has the healthiest fish i have ever seen. everyone there you ask has alot of knowledge of just about every aspect of marine tanks.

sometimes they are a bit pricey, but i have never bought a fish from there that wasnt worth it.

I agree. My goby, male clown and pair of dottybacks are from there at one time or another. The phone service is great, and they arrived very healthy.

thatfishplace.com has been good to me
and i just put in an order from saltwaterfish.com, i'll let ya know how i make out.
