Wonderful New York
Is it better to keep demasoni in large groups? What is the minimun size aquarium you would keep 15 of them in? What are the best ways to keep their aggression down? If there is a cave for each fish, would I be able to keep up to 5 males in a single aquarium with the rest females or will they still kill each other? I'm trying to build the perfect atmosphere for around 15 of them. Is it possible?

i've kept a group of 5 but i've never kept 15 of these. you may already know that they are considered among the most aggression oriented Mbuna out there. one male to 4-5 females works at minimizing aggression so 3-4 males and the rest females should be a hopefully reasonable combination. a 75 gallon tank seems appropriate to me.

I would keep 12 or more in a 55g or more, with only a couple males in the mix. They are small, but aggressive, and you need a lot of females per male to disperse the aggression. A species tank of these guys is quite a show piece, with a few synodontis cats.
