DeMonZ's tank

Thanks for the show of support. Glad to know that something is actually turning out decent for a change. Other non-aquatic projects seem to always bite me in the butt somehow. So far, so good with this though.

Well, it's been a few weeks since my last update. The best thing to report is that I "seem" to have whipped the thread algae in my tank. I still have a few others that arent too awful bad yet. I guess the worst is the green algae that you can see all over the back glass. It seems to like growing on the glass. I really dont see it much anywhere else. The otos keep it cleaned off of the front glass pretty well. The cherry barbs tend to keep the back right corner of the tank to themselves. They are all over the tank, but tend to run the otos out of there.

I think I managed to find a good setup on my camera for photos of the whole tank. Reducing the lighting and exposure time produces a photo that looks very much like what I see with my eyes. But, it doesnt seem to be as effective on closer shots.

The first image is, of course, I full tank shot. I plan to do some trimming tomorrow and will probably place all the trimmings in the tank to help fill in.

The second image is my anubia with a flower. This was my first experience with an underwater plant flowering. Simply amazing. If you look closely, you will see that the same plant has a second flower starting (to the right of the open flower and a bit lower). And I just noticed that one of my otos is cleaning my driftwood in that pic as well.

That is all for this update.

Very nice!

Thanks for the compliments folks. My family seems to be enjoying the tank almost as much as I enjoy maintaining and learning about it.
