ok thanks everyone! like dent20 said i have had him for six weeks and hes still alive,i do see him picking at the rocks alot but i never thought he was getting anything but he must be eating flakes.he just never goes to the surface wich mmight be a big part of why he wont eat flakes and pellets.should i do brine shrimp/bloodworms once or twice a week then?
could you post a pic of em? iam interested to see his colors.

i got Jackal near the end of January. he was already about 2 inches when i got him, so i don't know his exact age.
